It's About Realism
Most flight simmers are looking for realism in all the wrong places.
Realistic sceneries, aircraft, panels, gauges, sounds, and ATC are all very nice, but the only true way to simulate flight realistically is to do it the way real-world pilots do it. Simming without knowing about your aircraft, or following the proper procedures, or using official aviation charts are not realistic.
That's what my books are about. You'll learn how to know your aircraft, follow procedures, use real aviation charts, and much more.
All my books are written exclusively for flight simmers. They're based on official aviation reference and training materials. They explain all the information in easy-to-understand English. Terms and acronyms are clearly defined.
If realistic flight simming is what you seek, you'll find it through my books. And your satisfaction is guaranteed.
Order my flight-sim books today. You'll be glad you did.

Learn about:
- advantages of simming jets
- what real-world jet pilots do
- what's required of jet pilots
- the fundamentals of simming in jets
- performance speeds for jets
- jet panels and instruments
- planning and preparing jet flights
- flying propjets (a.k.a. turboprops)
- flying business jets
- flying small, medium and large jetliners
- using autopilots
- using jet checklists
- sources of charts used by real jet pilots
Instructions supplied with flight-simulation programs skim the surface of what a flight-sim pilot needs to know.
The Advantages of Simming the Jets
Move past the machismo feeds and learn the point of simming in these huge, cumbersome, and demanding creatures.
What Jet Pilots Do
Real-world jet pilots do a lot more than fly jets. Learn what they do so you
can simulate their jobs realistically.
Requirements for Flying Jets
Jet pilots meet many more requirements than other pilots do. Learn what they are so you can simulate jet flight realistically.
Jet Performance Speeds
While all real-world pilots use performance speeds, commonly called "V speeds," to operate their aircraft properly and efficiently, jet pilots rely on them. Learn about the performance speeds that real-world jet pilots use so you can simulate jet flight realistically.
Jet Panels and Instruments
Although aircraft instruments are basically the same, the layouts of jet panels and the appearance of jet instruments are different from general aviation and from one jet to another. Learn how to use these panels and instruments so you can simulate jet flight realistically.
Planning and Preparing Your Jet Flights
Real-world jet pilots spend much of their time planing and preparing so their flights are safe and efficient. To simulate jet flight realistically, you must plan and prepare, too, or your jet flights will be amateurish.
Flying the Jets
Flying various jet types is so different that three separate chapters are devoted to jet flight procedures, methods and practices. Learn how to fly:
- propjets (a.k.a. turboprops) — all new chapter!
- business jets
- jetliners (small, medium, large)
Each type has its own unique characteristics, challenges, demands and rewards.
Flying With Autopilots
An All New Chapter!
Learn how to fly your jets on autopilot as real-world pilots fly their jets on autopilot. Set your altitude, heading, airspeed, climb rate, and more. Climb, cruise, turn, descend, and approach on autopilot. Use autothrottle to control airspeed. Use flight director to help fly your aircraft correctly. Use different manufacturers' autopilots in different aircraft. An entirely new chapter has been added explaining the proper use of this vital flight tool.
Using Checklists
With every jet pilot using checklists on every flight, your Jet Simming contains sample checklists for every flight phase as well as air traffic control. It's the best way to sim realistically.
Sources of Charts
Every real-world jet pilots uses charts to know how to get places and what to do when they arrive there. Simulating jet flight realistically is impossible without charts. For your convenience, Jet Simming lists several reliable sources of official aviation charts that real-world pilots use in their real-world jet flights. This book does not contain any charts. We are trainers, not charts suppliers.)
Go deeper than the superficial and learn how real pilots perform common, crucial and required maneuvers correctly.
Find Needed Information Quickly and Easily
Your Jet Simming is organized and laid out for your easiest use. Information is divided into relevant chapters, and chapters are organized into easy-to-follow sections. Headings and captions help you find information quickly. It's fully indexed for quick reference.

Your Jet Simming lies flat for easy use.
Clearly Written and Easy to Use
Your Jet Simming is written by expert flight simmers and professional aviators, then published by an experienced training enterprise to help you learn by reading and doing. Policies, procedures and practices used by professional real-world jet pilots are explained in straight-forward, easy-to-follow English. Visual aids help you grasp the principles, and easy-to-follow exercises help you apply the concepts and methods for experience and learning.
|
Graphical aids are easy to read, understand, and use.
|
|
Detailed Data
Jet Simming contains many easy-to-read tables with data about engine and aircraft performance during take-off, climbout, cruise, descent, and approach.
|
Universal Application
The jet principles, procedures, and practices explained in Jet Simming apply to all business jets and jetliners. We can't write one book that explains every jet in the air, and we can't write a separate book for every jet, either. So we explain the most common jets in this book, and readers can easily adapt our explanations to the specific jets they're flying. Adaptation is part of having the "right stuff" for simulating jet flight.

Sample Text
At 300 knots airspeed, descending at 2,000 feet per minute is imperceptible to you and your passengers because of simple geometry. At this speed, your jet travels five nautical miles or about 30,000 feet downrange in one minute. Constructing a triangle of this scale (2:30) reveals a slope of about three degrees. You can't feel it, and you can barely tell by looking out the windows. You could descend even faster than 2,000 feet per minute, but that would increase your airspeed instead of reducing it.
It's easy to follow, isn't it?

A Message From Your Author
Realistic flight simming requires knowledge and adherence to professional requirements and practices. Simmers who jump into their cockpits without these basics are needlessly frustrating themselves. Simulate flight realistically by knowing what you're doing and by doing what real-world pilots do. —

Get a Free V-Speed Card!
With the Purchase of Bill Stack's Excellent Flight-Sim Books!
V-speeds are a series of velocities designated by aviation authorities. Some are minimums, some are maximums, and some are optimums. For example, Vne means the designated velocity should never be exceeded (it differs for each aircraft).
Your V-speed card lists the most common general-aviation V-speeds in two easy-to-find ways -- alphabetically on one side and by velocity on the other side.
Each V-speed is identified by name and abbreviation and explained in clear language. The cards are a handy size for using right at your flight simulator.

RELEVANCY NOTICE:
Like all our flight-sim books, Jet Simming is only for home flight-simulation computer games. It is based on real aviation laws, regulations, and procedures so home flight-simulation enthusiasts can maximize their enjoyment. Because some aspects of home flight-simulation games are not exactly like real-world aviation, some information in this manual is not exactly like real flight. That is why these books are not intended for and should not be used for real-world flight or lessons. We accept no liability for any misuse of these flight-simulation manuals.
