Aerolineas Argentina Virtual.  Virtual Argentine airlines web site. In Spanish.

AeroTexas Aviation International. Based in Houston, Texas, at William P. Hobby Airport. Billed as "the first 'adventure-based' airline on the net." Pilots receive extensive weather reports and enroute navigation data. Supports Squawkbox and RealWeather. Flies to more than 900 local, regional, and national routes using Embraer, Boeing, and Airbus aircraft. Offers 20-level pilot ranking system and quick promotions based on flying tenure.

AirLine. Operating from hubs in Sacramento, California, and Atlanta, Georgia, USA. Member of the North American Alliance.

Eastern Airlines Virtual Airline. Modeled after the defunct Eastern Airlines in honor of this great real world airline that operated as a major U.S. carrier for almost 63 years.

Livewire Airlines."The world's largest, most active virtual airline in operation. Livewire Airlines brings virtual airlines to a whole new level!"

Pinellas Virtual Airlines. An MS flightsim based virtual airline. Also LSA virtual airlines and Air Tampa virtual airlines. Submitted by Steve Lyons - Owner/Chairman/CEO.

SunAir Express.  Hubs in Atlanta, Saint Louis, San Francisco and Tampa. Billed as "the world's first virtual airline."

Trade Wind Caribbean Airlines.  Caribbean Islands operating from Havana, Cuba. Among of the longer-lasting virtual airlines on the web.

VATSIM. Virtual Air Traffic Simulation Network provides global on-line airspace simulation for pilot and controller clients. Most Virtual Airlines use VATSIM to conduct flights. Many of our members fly individually and find the network experience very realistic because of the interaction with live (human) ATC who very accurately simulate the air traffic control environment.. Pilots can effectively provide aerial emergency services to the entire North American continent. This virtual airline is based on the incident command system used worldwide in fire, rescue, and emergency services.

WestWind Airlines.  Numerous sites in USA and Canada, plus a few in Europe. Pilot training in specfic skill areas.

AUSTRALIA, OCEANIA, NEW ZEALAND

ACE. Airline Charter Enterprises, an Australian virtual airline.

AFA Australia. Australian Virtual Airline division of American Flight Airways with hubs in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney.

Oceania Virtual Airlines. A large Australian virtual airline providing flights to all capital cities within Australia and international destinations.

EUROPE

Air Reliance Virtual.   A virtual airline based at London Gatwick and London Stansted and operating Boeing 757-200 and BAe146 to the Mediteranean and the Canary Islands. Offers offline flying and is aimed at beginners to the VA world as well as experienced pilots.

EuroAir.  An "alternative" virtual airline offering pilots the flexibility to try new routes and new planes from time to time. Based at London Heathrow.

Swiss VA."Definite and legal" virtual airline representing Swiss International Air Lines. Automated pilot services, capture of PIREP flight data, and message board.

WORLDWIDE

Cardinal Airlines. Flying passengers and freight on line during all times of the day and night in North America, Europe, and the Pacific with free add-on programs like Squawkbox.

Livewire Airlines. "A real-time internet add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator."

Noble Air. Noble Air provides services to cities around the world via an extensive number of hubs on the Internet and CompuServe. It represents "the largest and most diverse pilot base of simulated airlines currently in operation online."

Virtual Air Traffic Network. Fly in real time with other simmers providing air traffic control. Also called "VATSIM" and "vatsim.net."

Submissions and Changes
Use our handy form to submit additions, revisions and deletions. All new and revised sites will be visited and judged for worthiness.

Sites we list are: 

  • complete or substantially complete,
  • useful to flight simmers,
  • loadable in a reasonable period,
  • containing no complicated scripts that reduce performance of people's computers.


What doesn't pass muster? 

  • sites under construction,
  • sites with no content relevant or useful for flight simming,
  • sites taking forever to load because of overwhelming animations, java, photos, music, videos and other burdensome toys (only a few simmers with nothing else to do have time for it)
  • sites with complicated scripts that reduce the performance of people's computers,
  • sites with popup windows advertising unrelated products and services.
